Recipe type: Main
Serves: 4
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 3 cups thinly sliced potatoes (either peeled or with skins)
  • ½ cup chopped onions
  • 1 can Cream of Mushroom soup
  • ½ cup of Velveeta Cheese
  • green bell pepper (chopped)
  • red bell pepper (chopped)
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1½ cups shredded cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste
  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Brown meat with chopped onion and peppers in an oven safe pan. When meat is browned drain grease and pour meat mixture on to a paper plate.
  3. Now that the pan is empty turn heat up just a little and melt the Velveeta cheese along with mushroom soup. Stir until cheese is completely melted.
  4. Pour the cheese/soup mixture into a large bowl. Pour in milk and add salt and pepper. Stir.
  5. The pan is empty again, so now layer half of the potatoes, soup mixture, and then the hamburger meat. Repeat. Then, add shredded cheese on top. Cover with top or aluminum foil and bake for about an hour.
