Chess Cake with Pecans

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 3 large eggs (divided)
  • 1 (18.25-oz.) package yellow cake mix
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (16 oz.) package powdered sugar
  1. Put the pecans, butter, 1 egg, and the cake mix into a large bowl and mix well.
  2. Spray a 13x9 inch pan and press the mixture evenly into pan.
  3. The cream cheese, other 2 eggs, and powdered sugar need to be mixed with hand mixer until smooth. Pour this over the cake mixture.
  4. Bake at 325° for 40 minutes or cooked through. Cool on wire rack and then cut into squares or even bite size pieces.
