On Jan. 2nd, we had to take Daisy in. Let me back up since I don’t think I’ve been able to tell you that in early December, we had to take her in because she had been limping and it was getting worse. They did x-rays and determined it could be extremely bad Osteoporosis in both hips and back knees or bone cancer. We had 2 different types of meds that ended up having to give her daily because she just looked miserable too much. We were happy to have her with us for another Christmas, because she loved it.…

**Yes, another picture of Daisy. I just can’t help myself. She is so photogenic and doesn’t mind the camera, unlike Rosie who would practically run away when she saw me get my camera out.** Daisy is adjusting nicely still. We’ve quickly learned some of her tendencies, which has helped us to know how she may react in certain situations. I was concerned about her response to the craziness that would probably occur while we watched the National Championship game, but she sat right at my feet. She stayed pretty calm most of the time and we never had to resort…

Meet the newest edition to our family. This beautiful Pembroke Welsh Corgi is Daisy. Some of you may recognize her if you read Tracy’s blog. I “met” her when I started doing the Mommytography project. She commented on my header, which you’ll notice has a Corgi on it. I responded in saying that we were currently Corgi-less, because Rosie passed away last year. Never did I think she would respond saying that she had a Corgi that she would like to find a good home for. I talked it over with Rob and after talking back and forth with Tracy…

So I did this post back in 2011! Cannot believe it’s been that long and really, I thought I had done this post more than once. I got the idea from Ashley’s blog, which is no longer updated. See the bottom of the post for the ‘rules.’ 1. Me! 2020 has held lots of ups and downs for everybody including myself. I’m happy to have made it through the year without getting COVID (knock on wood) and having a good year working from home 9 out of 12 months. It’s pretty difficult to be a supervisor when you’re not in…

This month I was happy about: for more family time and working from home. A time to slow down a bit and actually be forced to get stuff done that otherwise wouldn’t. Just making the best of the situation. This month I was sad about: the whole coronavirus is a complete downer. It’s so sad to see all those that are suffering and all those that have died from it. It’s constant on the news and on social media. This year I’m going to rate the books & movies. Here’s my rating system: ♥ ♥ = Love it! A must…

Well here we are again finishing up another month. Today I’m linking up with Shay and Sheaffer for What’s Up Wednesday. What We’re Eating Well since we’ve been all at home more or less I’ve been even more on top of menu planning, because I’m planning not only dinner like I usually do, but also lunches. With all the social distancing, we stopped eating out even before our state closed all restaurants except for drive thrus and take out orders. I’ve been using not only my recipes, but also Show Me the Yummy, Wholesome Recipe Box, Damn Delicious, Simply Happy…

This month I was happy about: getting to celebrate with Drew’s 22nd birthday in Atlanta and the next week getting to see the Hawks NBA game with Alex. This month I was sad about: having to say goodbye to Daisy. This year I’m going to rate the books & movies. Here’s my rating system: ♥ ♥ = Love it! A must read/see! ♥ = Really good! Highly recommend. ✓ ✓ = Good, not great ✓ = Not much to talk about X = Awful. Total waste of time Movies I watched were: Falling Inn Love (Netflix) ♥ TV Shows I…

We started off the month with a win in the Auburn vs. Alabama Game. Here’s Drew and Caitlyn at the game before they rushed the field with everyone else. Here’s Daisy when she was still out of it because they had to sedate her so they could do x-rays. She started limping on the backside around Thanksgiving. You can read about all that here. The next weekend we headed to Gatlinburg for a soccer tournament. Daisy…just so darn cute! Dang how I miss that face and her companionship. My Honda Pilot hit a milestone. Alex has been watching every time…

As you can see from the title I am behind my weekly posts for an entire month. Sheesh! Time flies. Between Drew leaving for his internship and school getting out for Alex, a trip to Seattle, and a coworker dying, my boys going to Omaha, the last month has gone by so fast and I’ve had no time to document life. So I’m going to try and get everything up to date here. PICS These pics go from 5.19-26.2019. 1: My nieces stayed with us over the Memorial Day weekend, which also happens to be their recital weekend. They were…

I’m late getting my weekly post up, but it’s been a crazy weekend and this week hasn’t really slowed down either. But here it is! PICS 1: Last Sunday, I was outside and noticed this little one flying around. I’m amazed at the pics an iPhone gets sometimes. 2: Daisy cracks me up the way she lays half in half out of her bed. 3: Alex had an orthodontist appointment. Their new building is so pretty. 4: One day last week I got out of my car in the parking deck and work. I looked over and saw this squirrel…

PICS 1: Our family Easter picture at church 2: On Easter Sunday, we ended up going out Smith Mountain for a hike. We brought Daisy and she loved it! Here she is at the top waiting on the boys to go up to the top of the fire tower. 3: Another pic from Easter Sunday, before we went to Smith Mountain we stopped at the lake. The boys were brave enough to get in the water. It was cold. 4: Mountain Laurel on Smith Mountain 5: We took a pic of my department since it was Employee Appreciation week. 6:…

What a wEeK it has been! Ups and down and highs and lows! I know the last few weeks have looked similar with pics of Drew in different arenas and things. I’m not sure I’m encapsulating my weeks fully, but I’m going the best I can trying to keep up. 🙂 PICS 1: The week started off with another huge win for Auburn’s Men’s Basketball Team against Kentucky to send them to the final four. However, after that game Drew is finished with pep band for the season. Even though our team rallied in OT to beat Kentucky and got…

Here’s a quick run down of what we did in December. December started off with getting a Christmas tree the first weekend of the month. Drew performed his last concert with AU Cappella as the president. Drew and Rob flew to Baltimore, did some site-seeing, then went to pick up his friend, Joseph, from the Naval Academy. From there they drove to Philly for the Army-Navy Game the next day. Although it was quite cold they had a good time. While they were away, I took Alex to the Auburn Christmas Parade, where he got to march in a parade…

Who’s excited that Spring is here? I know many places around the country are still knee deep in snow. I am praying that in a couple weeks when Rob and I fly up to Boston that the snow stops because we have to end up in Washington, DC for Rob’s work conference. So here’s the list of things I’d like to do before Spring is over. Take pictures of Cherry Blossoms Shop at a farmer’s market Take Daisy for a walk Go to a museum Decorate for Spring Find a four leaf clover Go to a Spring Training game Do…

We got word around 10am on Tuesday that there would be no school for Alex the next day. Rob, Drew, and I didn’t hear about our work and school until right after I left work that evening about 4:45pm. We figured it was coming, just a matter of getting the alert. Wednesday morning we woke up and bundled up and ventured outside for some fun in the snow. Well, all of us except Rob. Even the dog and cat came out with us. The snow was beautiful. We got about 3 inches and it was so light and fluffy, which…

Now that we’re getting back to normal life, I’ve finally had time to sit and go through these pics. It helps that I didn’t take that many pics. Christmas this year was one of the best we’ve had in a long time. There were lots of surprises. I got the Instax Printer. The boys got a PS4 Pro Star Wars Limited Edition. We enjoyed the morning. This year Caitlyn came over to open presents with us which was nice. Daisy is so funny at Christmas. She wants to open everyone’s presents. As you can see she quickly figured out one…

I can’t believe tomorrow is SEPTEMBER!! Can you? Summer always flies by, so I’m not sure why I’m always surprised. In this best of summer post, I’m sharing the highlights of the last 3 months. As I gathered up pictures, I realized this summer has been so busy. We’ve covered a lot of ground among the 4 of us. So here goes… June I started the summer by finding a penpal. You can read about that here. Our friend Julia invited us to the lake for some food and relaxation and the celebration of her birthday. Always such fun with…
