Taco Joes

By | November 10, 2014

The other night I was seriously craving tacos and when I looked in the pantry we didn’t have any tortillas or any taco shells. I always think back to the days when I used to go to Taco Bueno, when they had the yummiest Taco sandwiches. I looked to see if we had any buns, which we did. I was in business! My family was totally making fun of me, but once they tried it there mouths were too stuffed to say anything.

Taco Joes - Ever wanted tacos, but didn't have any tortillas in the pantry? Here's an easy recipe to remedy that situation/craving!

Servings: 4-6
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs. of ground beef
Taco Seasoning
1/2 cup of chopped onion
1 tbs. minced garlic
Optional toppings:
shredded cheese
tomatoes
lettuce
jalapenos
taco sauce
sour cream

Directions:
1. Brown 1 1/2 lbs. of ground beef with onion adding in Taco Seasoning. See this for specific directions on making the best taco meat. Make sure meat is crumbled up, getting rid of any big chunks of meat. I use my food processor with short 2 pulses.
2. Mound meat on top of bottom bun and add desired taco toppings. I have to eat it with a fork because it’s usually way to messy to eat like a sandwich.

You can never have too much tacos! When I’m in a pinch I use a soft tortilla, we always seem to have those on hand. Never thought to turn it into a joe! Fun

Taco sandwiches is such an inventive idea, especially in a pinch. So creative, the picture didn’t show up for me though. I hope it’s working!
