Being the Hands & Feet

Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered. ~ Proverbs 11:25 ESV

Oh what a marvelous feeling it is to know you’re doing something for someone who can’t do it for themselves! Being the hands and feet of our Lord and Savior is just so worth the hard work. It’s a drop in the bucket comparatively, you know?

Sunday School Service Project (April 2013)

A few weeks ago Rob’s and my Sunday School class got together with our families for a service project. Although, Rob and the boys were busy with a scouting event, I decided to be the representative for our family. There is a member of our church who’s home needs a lot of work. It’s out in the country and has been vandalized and broken into by “meth heads” over the last couple of years. You’ll see in the pics that the doors and windows had to be boarded up, so the sweet soul that lives in the house has very little natural light. A tree also fell on the house awhile back destroying the integrity of that side of the house and damaging the roof beyond repair. Our church has already put a new roof on and they’re currently working on the wrap around porch as it is not safe. Our class lathered up the bristles and got busy painting.

Here you see part of our class along with their kids painting the newly added garage. For fear that much of what the owned that was outside, the owner had to add this on so that he didn’t have to worry about those things getting stolen.

Our class had a great time in fellowship and servant-hood that we plan to “adopt” this member of our church and continue to get this house back to the way it should be!
